This matching necklace and earring set is very sparkly and it glimmers with rainbow prisms when exposed to light. A set of jewelry pieces designed to be worn together is called a "parure" and this was very popular in the 1950's. Women wore matching earrings, brooches, rings, necklaces and sometimes bracelets. These items were purchased from the famous Pittsburgh Department Store; Joseph Hornes Co. in the 1950s. The necklace features a hook clasp that is adjustable. The earrings are clip on (pierced ears were considered to be indecent or risque during this time period). Necklace is 18" long and it can be made shorter with the adjustable hook. There are no missing beads and no noticeable defects. This beautiful sparkly vintage jewelry set is in wonderful condition for it's age. These items would make a great gift for someone who loves mid century glamour. This set will come in the original Joseph Horne Co. Box.
