Item listed is a sweet vintage 1950's crocheted Crinoline Lady in it's original frame. She is wearing a lovely posey pink dress and bonnet and she is carrying a baby blue umbrella. The bottom portion of her dress is complete with delicate frills and ruffles. The craftsmanship of this charming piece is superb. This item comes with the original instruction manual/magazine (1949) used to create this dainty craft. The manual shows wear/stains typical for the age of the item. The frame is plastic and is very lightweight. The backing is cardboard (not wood) and it appears as though a few of the screws might be missing. I have reinforced the backing with a couple of pieces of clear tape though they are not necessary to hold in the piece. I replaced the original paper behind the Crinoline Lady with scrapbooking paper as the paper that she originally came with was deteriorating. I considered replacing the frame as well - but decided that the yellow and gold colors complimented the craft nicely. It would be very easy to replace the frame and backing if you so choose. The booklet illustrates full instructions how to make your own crocheted lady. This item measures 11" x 9". This item would be great for someone who loves vintage items/antiques and who also loves to craft! It would look great displayed in a bedroom, nursery, living room or powder room.
